Different Journeys Different Focus

The 'What a Journey Might Look Like' section outlines what a typical Spirit journey might entail. However not all journeys are the same…in fact each is unique!

Some of our journeys are hard going, involving a lot of driving or walking. Some, like our time out of Broken Hill, are very easy, with a lot of staying put. Some have a leadership focus, including exposure visits to some amazing people who are making a difference with their lives. We organise specific Making a Difference (MAD) journeys for young adults, giving them the opportunity to engage local change agents, and to think about their own future with others on a similar journey. Some have an art focus, allowing participants to focus on appreciating the desert through the lens of their art. Some include significant time connecting with indigenous culture and spirit.

And all journeys will not necessarily be into deserts. Deserts provide a special and unique kind of wilderness in which to stop and explore unique environments, to discover more about ourselves and our sense of place and spirit. Other types of wilderness can also provide significant experiences and on occasions we organise journeys to those places as well.

Given all the different types of journeys we organise, it is important you select the one(s) that you feel will be most helpful to you.
